The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird is a long-range, advanced, strategic reconnaissance aircraft that was used by the United States Air Force. It was introduced in 1966 and retired in 1998. While SR-71A, SR-71B, and SR-71C variants of the aircraft do exist, the SR-71D is a fictionalized variant of the aircraft. It functions as a bomber rather than a reconnaissance aircraft.
