Below you will find answers to some common questions about MW Stats.

Is this an official site by Modern Warships developers (Artstorm)?

No. This site is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Artstorm or Cube Software, or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. The name Modern Warships as well as any related names, marks, emblems, and images are registered trademarks of their respective owners.

Are you going to add personal statistics tracking on MW Stats?

We were planning to add personal stats tracking features such as win rate or average damage per battle. However, this feature would require the game developers to create an API (application programming interface) that allows us to access this data on behalf of the user. Unfortunately, the game developers have stated that they are currently not planning on providing this kind of API. Therefore developing this feature is on hold at the moment but we might be able to implement it in the future if the developers provide the necessary API.

How is the data about ships, weapons and aircraft obtained?

The data is obtained using the same API the game uses for fetching data from the server every time you start it. This means the numbers are very accurate. Some manual testing is done to make sure the numbers match the game. There are also some additional steps that are performed to calculate numbers such as burst damage and DPM. The assets such as ship and weapon images are extracted from the game APK files but their quality is improved using a time-consuming process that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to upscale images.

Why are there ads on MW Stats?

Because of the amount of traffic (over a million pageviews a month) it costs a lot of money to host the site due to the server costs. We don’t have any sponsors or anything so we pay the hosting costs out of our own pocket. With ad revenue, we are able to offset some of the costs of running the site. Even with the ads (as of 2023) the site doesn’t break even, meaning it costs more money to host the site than the revenue from ads.
