Concept/Prototype
The Excalibur program is a project by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) to develop a high-energy laser weapon system for military applications. In 2014, they reportedly successfully tested a prototype laser with 21 individual optical components. Exalibur PERHEL in the game is modeled after this prototype.
