Promo terms of service

These terms cover promos on MW Stats — the cards supporters can publish to advertise their clan, tournament, giveaway or Discord server. Submitting a promo means you agree to them.

Who can publish a promo

• Publishing a promo is a perk for members of the MW Stats Patreon at the Tier III membership tier.
• Your promo stays on the site for as long as you remain a member of that tier. If your membership ends, the promo is unpublished from the site shortly afterwards — not to the minute, so a payment that fails and is sorted out the same week is a non-event.
• A promo unpublished that way is not deleted. If you rejoin the tier, get in touch and it can be reviewed and published again.
• You can have one promo on the site at a time.
• If you delete your MW Stats account, your promo is deleted with it.

What you can promote

• Your clan, a tournament, a giveaway or a Discord server.
• The promo is yours to write: you submit a title, an image, a description and links. The limits on each of those are shown next to the field you enter them in.
• Links must be ordinary web addresses beginning with http:// or https://, and must lead to the thing the promo is about — your clan's or tournament's own page, the giveaway, or a Discord invite.
• Please don't use link shorteners or redirects. The review can only judge the page it can see, so a link has to point where it says it points.

Where your promo appears

• MW Stats places a promo banner on item detail pages — ship, module, aircraft, camo, flag and so on. The banner appears after the primary content of the page (the statistics) and shows the image and title you submitted.
• Clicking the banner opens your promo's own page, which shows the title, the image, the description and your links.
• Other people may have promos on the site at the same time as you. When they do, the promos are shown in the carousel in a randomized order.
• Promos are not shown to visitors reading the site in Chinese (Simplified). Discord and similar services are not available in mainland China, and a promo written in English is of little use to most of those readers. If that matters for your promo, get in touch and we will see what can be arranged.

Review

• Every new promo, and every update to a promo already on the site, is reviewed by MW Stats before publication.
• While an update is being reviewed, the version already on the site stays up.
• MW Stats will review the content before publication. If MW Stats deems that any of the content is racist, sexist, adult content (R18) or leaked game content, that it or what it promotes is in breach of the Modern Warships terms of service, or that it is otherwise not suitable for publication on MW Stats, it reserves the right not to publish the content. MW Stats will get in touch by email so that the promo can be amended, and it will be published once it is suitable. If such content is only noticed after publication, MW Stats may take the promo off the site and will get in touch in the same way.
• Email is sent to the address Patreon provides for your membership.
• Once a promo has been approved, it can take about ten minutes to appear on the site.

Tournaments

• A tournament promo carries an end date, and the promo is unpublished automatically once that date has passed. It stays up for a further day so that the promo does not end early for anyone in a different time zone.
• A finished tournament promo is not deleted. You can either edit it with a new date or delete it and submit a new promo.

Changing and removing your promo

• You can edit or delete your promo at any time.
• Editing a promo that is on the site submits the change for review; the promo itself stays up until the change is approved.
• Images you have uploaded stay in the MW Stats media library after a promo is edited or deleted. Ask if you would like an uploaded image removed.

Your content

• You keep ownership of everything you submit.
• By submitting a promo you give MW Stats permission to store your title, image, description and links, and to display them on the site. This permission lasts for as long as the promo is on the site, plus the short period afterwards during which cached copies of a page may still be served.
• You confirm that what you submit is yours to use — the image in particular — and that publishing it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

What MW Stats does not promise

• There is no guaranteed number of impressions, no guaranteed placement and no guaranteed traffic. How often a promo is seen depends on which pages visitors happen to open and on how many promos are on the site at the time.
• While we make every effort, MW Stats does not guarantee that the site, or the promo feature, is available without interruption.
• MW Stats does not endorse what a promo advertises, and is not responsible for the content of the sites and services a promo links to.
