MiG-29K Fulcrum

Mikoyan's MiG-29K, known to NATO as the Fulcrum-D, is a Russian carrier-based multirole fighter derived from the land-based MiG-29, with folding wings and an arrestor hook. It first flew in 1988 and began trials aboard the carrier Admiral Kuznetsov in 1989, but after the Soviet collapse the Russian Navy chose the rival Su-33 instead, and the project stalled until India ordered the MiG-29K in 2004 for its carrier Vikramaditya. Deliveries to India began in 2009, and the Russian Navy later bought its own batch, which flew combat missions over Syria from Admiral Kuznetsov in 2016.
