Concept/Prototype
The 4.5-inch Mark 8 naval gun is a British naval gun introduced in 1972. It is used by the Royal Navy on the Type 45 destroyers and the Type 23 frigates. The caliber of the gun is 4.5 inches (113 mm) but in 2007, it was proposed that a NATO-standard 155 mm version of the gun be developed. However, this project was never realized.
