Project 447-155 is based on an experimental Chinese 155 mm naval gun. In early 2026, this gun was spotted on a test ship at a shipyard in China's Liaoning province. "447" in the name appears to be a reference to State Factory 447 (Inner Mongolia Northern Heavy Industries Group division of NORINCO), which is responsible for the development of this gun.
