Concept/Prototype
"YU-12" is not an actual designation of a torpedo in Chinese service. However, the visual design of the torpedo is based on a new torpedo with designation AMB012, which was shown at a Tinanmen Square military parade in 2025. As the China's current lightweight torpedo is designated as YU-11, it is likely that the AMB012 will be designated as YU-12 when it enters service.
