HELIOS stands for "High-Energy Laser with Integrated Optical Dazzler and Surveillance". It is a directed-energy weapon system developed by Lockheed Martin for the US Navy. It was first publicly seen in 2022 aboard the USS Preble (DDG-88) Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer.
