CN Type 052C Haikou

Haikou (hull number 171) is a Type 052C guided-missile destroyer (NATO reporting name: Luyang II-class) of the People's Liberation Army Navy, commissioned in 2005. The Type 052C was the first Chinese warship to carry a fixed AESA radar and vertically launched surface-to-air missiles, giving the navy area air defense. In 2008 Haikou deployed to the Gulf of Aden for anti-piracy operations, China's first overseas naval deployment in 600 years. It remains active with the South Sea Fleet.
