A Japanese battlecruiser, later reclassified as a battleship. Built to a British design and commissioned in the early 20th century, it became Japan’s first major warship armed with 356 mm main battery guns. During modernization, it received enhanced armor protection, an expanded superstructure, and an upgraded power plant, providing high speed for a battleship.
