Pros and cons
- Good speed for a cruiser
- Large number of unlocked missiles and GLs
- Has a locked magazine-type anti-air missile, so you don't need to sacrifice one of the unlocked missile slots for an anti-air missile in order to be able to actively defend against aircraft. This means it is very ideal for a full lock-on build.
- Smoke consumable
- Somewhat low durability for a cruiser
- No cannons
- Mediocre air defenses
Historical information
Azov was a Soviet Kara-class cruiser launched in 1973. It was upgraded to the experimental 1134-BF configuration, making it the first Soviet ship equipped with a vertical launch system (VLS): the S-300F Fort. The ship was decommissioned in 1998 and later scrapped. It is named after the Sea of Azov, a body of water in eastern Europe. Incidentally, the ship shares its name with a Ukrainian far-right paramilitary group.
