USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) was the second of the Freedom-class littoral combat ships, a United States Navy design for fast, shallow-draft warships operating close to shore. The Navy's littoral combat ship (LCS) program produced two rival designs: the Freedom-class monohull built by Lockheed Martin and the Independence-class trimaran from General Dynamics, which also appears in the game as USS Independence (LCS-2). Fort Worth was built at the Marinette Marine shipyard in Wisconsin, commissioned in 2012 and decommissioned in 2026, as the Navy has been retiring the early ships of both classes.
