Historical information
The Joint Strike Ship (JSS), known in Korean as the Hapdong Hwaryeokham (Joint Firepower Ship), is a conceptual arsenal ship proposed for the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN). Unveiled as a physical concept model by Hanwha Ocean at the MADEX 2023 naval defense exhibition, the vessel is designed as a mobile, sea-based missile launch platform. The JSS concept is based on a modified, low-observable hull form derived from Hanwha Ocean's KDDX design. In 2025 the South Korean military reportedly dropped the program.
