Historical information
Concept/Prototype
The XWIND 4000 was developed by the French defense contractor DCNS (now Naval Group) as a trimaran concept ship to demonstrate next-generation naval technologies. Unveiled at the Euronaval 2014 exhibition, the all-digital design featured hybrid propulsion and the integration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), incorporating an extended flight deck to allow drones and helicopters to operate simultaneously.
