Concept/Prototype
The DEAC (DCNS Evolved Aircraft Carrier) originated from the earlier PA2 program, which incorporated design work developed through French-British cooperation on future aircraft carriers, including the UK's Queen Elizabeth-class program. After France shelved the PA2, DCNS, the shipbuilder now called Naval Group, offered the DEAC as a medium-sized carrier with conventional propulsion aimed at export customers.
