PA-NG (Porte-avions de nouvelle generation) or New Generation Aircraft Carrier is a French aircraft carrier design proposed by Naval Group. Construction is expected to start in 2030s. In 2026 French president Emmanuel Macron announced that the carrier will be named "France Libre" (Free France). This name is a reference to the French government-in-exile during World War II, lead by Charles de Gaulle.
