JS Akizuki (DD-115) is a destroyer of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and the lead ship of the Akizuki-class. The class was designed to escort the JMSDF's helicopter carriers and Aegis destroyers. Akizuki was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki and commissioned in 2012. It remains in service from Sasebo and has served on anti-piracy patrols off Somalia.
