Proposed by the U.S. Navy in 1996, Monitor ship was a concept for a floating missile platform intended to have hundreds of missiles and a multitude of rocket launchers. The ship was supposed to be highly automated, but the project was canceled in 1998.

Arsenal Ship was a concept for a floating missile platform explored by the US Navy in the 1990s. The ship was intended be highly automated, low-crew platform equipped with 500 vertical launch system (VLS) cells. However, the program was cancelled and other vessels such as ballistic missile submarines were used to fulfill a similar role.
