USS CG(X)-21

The CG(X) was a real United States Navy program to design a new cruiser to replace the Ticonderoga-class ships. It was cancelled in 2010 without a ship being built. The ship in the game is based on the "CGX-21 Aegis Stealth Strike Cruiser", a 1/350 scale model built by hobbyist Eric Mante around 2004. His design drew inspiration from the Arsenal Ship concept and the SC-21 program, two earlier Navy projects of the 1990s, with the lower hull taken from a Ticonderoga-class model kit. It took second place at a local Hobbytown USA model contest in southeastern Wisconsin.
