FGS F123

The Brandenburg class (F123) is a German frigate class consisting of four ships built for the German Navy during the 1990s. Ordered in 1989 to replace the aging Hamburg-class destroyers, they were commissioned from 1994 to 1996. Anti-submarine warfare is their main role, while air defense, anti-ship warfare and squadron command are secondary tasks. All four ships remain in service and, with the Sachsen-class (F124) frigates that followed them, form the core of the German Navy's surface fleet. In the game, the model is based on Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (F218), which was commissioned in 1996.
