USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000) is the lead ship of the Zumwalt-class guided-missile destroyers of the United States Navy. She was commissioned in 2016 and is named after Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, a former Chief of Naval Operations. Despite its advanced technology and stealth features, the Zumwalt-class has faced several challenges, including cost overruns and inoperable main guns. After the three initial ships, no further ships of this class are planned.
