FGS F126

Planned as the largest German surface warships since World War II, the Niedersachsen-class frigates (F126) were meant to replace the Brandenburg-class (F123). The Dutch shipbuilder Damen won the contract in 2020 as designer and general contractor. The first ship, Niedersachsen, was laid down in 2024, but rising costs and delays led Germany to cancel the program in 2026 before any ship was completed. Germany chose eight MEKO A-200 DEU frigates, designated F128, instead. The in-game model is a generic representation of the F126 class rather than being based on one specific named or numbered ship.
